Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the JVH Puzzle app for iOS, developed by Studio Taupe (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance

By using JVH Puzzle for iOS, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of the app

JVH Puzzle is a mobile app that helps you track your Jan van Haasteren puzzle collection. It includes features such as a puzzle database, barcode scanning, collection sync across devices, and optional social features (e.g. following other users’ collections). We may add, change, or remove features over time.

3. License to use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use JVH Puzzle for iOS for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and with the App Store terms that apply to the app.

4. User accounts and conduct

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You agree not to:

• Use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users’ accounts, or any third-party services used by the app
• Interfere with or disrupt the app or its infrastructure
• Use the app in a way that could harm, disable, or overburden our or others’ systems

We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

5. Intellectual property

The app, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software (excluding open-source and third-party components), is owned by Studio Taupe or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the app or its content except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law. Jan van Haasteren puzzle names and related imagery are used for informational and identification purposes; trademark rights belong to their respective owners.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studio Taupe and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profit, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Our total liability for any claims related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim (or, if the app is free, zero). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in such cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the app or your account if you breach these Terms or for other legitimate reasons. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms. For material changes, we may notify you in the app or by email where possible.

10. Third-party services

The app uses third-party services (e.g. App Store, Firebase). Your use of the app is also subject to the terms and policies of those services where applicable.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be submitted to the courts of the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law in your country requires otherwise.
