This Privacy Policy describes how Studio Taupe (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Roastlist app for iOS.

1. Who we are

Roastlist is developed by Studio Taupe, based in Deventer, the Netherlands. You can contact us at developer@studiotaupe.com.

2. What data the app processes

Roastlist is a coffee journal. To provide its features, the app can process:

• Journal data — Coffee beans, brew setups, roast sessions, drink recipes, ratings, tasting notes, and related metadata you enter. Stored locally on your device; synced to the cloud only if you sign in.
• Photos — Bag or roast photos you choose to attach. Processed and stored locally; uploaded for sync only when you use an account.
• Account information — If you create an account with email and password, we receive your email address to authenticate you and enable sync and Discover.
• Public profile & shared recipes — Display name, public recipes, and ratings you choose to share via Discover.
• App settings & feedback — Preferences such as units, and optional feedback you submit through the app.

3. Local use vs. optional account

You can use Roastlist without an account. Core journaling runs on your device with SwiftData. Creating an account is optional and unlocks cloud sync across devices and Discover (public recipes and profiles).

4. How we use your data

• Provide the journal, sync, and Discover features you choose to use
• Authenticate you and secure your account
• Respond to feedback you send us
• Improve reliability and fix issues

5. Device permissions

The app may request the following permissions:

• Photo library / camera — To attach bag or roast photos you choose.

You can manage these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

6. Third-party services

Roastlist is distributed through the Apple App Store. When you sign in, we use Firebase (Google) for authentication, cloud storage/sync, and related backend services. The provider’s privacy policy applies to data they process: Firebase Privacy. Apple’s privacy practices apply to app distribution: Apple Privacy Policy.

7. Data retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Account and synced data are kept for as long as your account exists. To delete your account and cloud data, use in-app options if available or contact us at developer@studiotaupe.com.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal data (access, correction, deletion, and more). Contact us at developer@studiotaupe.com to exercise these rights.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date.
